Okay, well I guess it wouldn't hurt to start this off before leaving. So I can remember the chaos that was before things had even started.
It's four days before I leave for Europe and I haven't heard anything for a few weeks from the company I'm heading over to join. So I guess I'm hoping they've recieved the payment, and that when I arrive on the 14th I'll have someone picking me up ;)
Thankfully this kind of thing's not really new to me, over the last four years the fears associated with travelling have been ground out of me, and I've become pretty flexible. I'm not worried, even with the worst case scenario where I turn up with no pickup I'd be able to sort myself out, get a cheap motel or backpackers for the night and call the company/turn up on their doorstep with a few emails showing I'm supposed to be there. It's surprising how much of life and it's adventures depends on determination and boldness.
Fortunately I have extreme faith that this is all supposed to happen, and I'm doing this through sheer determination if it comes down to it :) Sometimes people will comment to me that I've been extremely lucky in my life, having experienced a few amazing things or in achievements, but luck has nothing to do with it... it's through working hard and taking action and sometimes risking or sacrificing... and often what I see as a bit of divine intervention ;)
Okay, enough chat, must go out and get the last of the things I need. Had my first attempt pack yesterday and came out with 19kg's... thats 11kg more I get to try and crush in ;)
Picture on the right is the stuff I managed to fit into one rucksack
Just want to be first to comment. Sad farewell this morning, but the start of a thrilling adventure.
ReplyDeleteNoticed your time is out of sync. You've got 01:06 am as the time I posted while it's 21 hours ahead of that. 10:06 pm on Friday 13th. Or it's my time that's out.
